Your students could gain national recognition for their creativity

Hello everyone,

It’s a new term and today we’re launching the Shine School Media Awards 2025. Now in its 14th year, Shine is a competition that could motivate your students and gain them national recognition for their creativity.

  • If your school already produces a magazine, newspaper or podcast each year, the next edition will be immediately eligible.
  • Perhaps you have students that are clamouring to create, who could be the media stars of tomorrow, and just require a little encouragement. The autumn term is a great time to start a project either as part of the curriculum or as an after-school activity.

Our awards this past July was our best yet, with students coming to receive their awards from across the UK and Ireland. The atmosphere was electric from the moment schools arrived and joined in our workshops led by professionals in cartoon drawing, bookbinding, magazine publishing and social media.

About Shine

Shine was founded and is run by a charitable foundation in the City of London and is always free to enter. Publications need not be printed, an e-magazine will do just fine – we even have a dedicated digital edition award.

Even if your school media project is a glimmer of an idea today, remember that entering is free and easy. Just register with us today and we can provide guidance and encouragement from now til our entry deadline next May.
